Dr Constantinos Antonopoulos
Constantinos is a researcher working in the field of Global and European Economic Geography. He graduated in 2005 from the Department of International and European Studies of the Panteion University Athens and now holds a Postgraduate Degree in Local Economic Development from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a Postgraduate Degree in Urban Management from the Erasmus University in Rotterdam.
He holds a Ph.D in Economic Geography from the University of Manchester and has also concluded a traineeship at the European Commission, DG RTD. Constantinos was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Durham and a Research Assistant at the Initiative of the City of Manchester.
He has taught academic courses on Environment and Circular Economy, Sustainability and Innovation (University of Patras). He has also worked in the implementation of the Regional Innovation Pole of Western Greece as a consultant to local authorities in environmental projects.
His work has been published in international scientific journals and conferences, and he has organized sessions on Environmental Commons (EISA - PEC 2018) and a conference on Circular Economy.
Lydia Polychronopoulou is the Head of Communications and Corporate Social Responsibility at Matrix Pack S.A, which is active in the field of disposable products. She is also responsible for the Communication and Operation of the independent music company United We Fly as well as the Communications Manager of Apt Information Systems S.A.
She has studied International and European Relations at the University of Piraeus and Fashion Business Management at the University of Westminster. She is Vice President of Greek Paths of Culture of the Hellenic Society for the Protection of Environment and Cultural Heritage and Member of the Friends of Music Society of the Athens Concert Hall.
Christos Rakovitis is Project Manager for a leading B2B sourcing platform in Greece. He has over 9 years of experience in the fields of Procurement, EU Funded Programmes and Web Applications.
During his career, he has joined committees, federations and non-profit organizations concerning business’ competitiveness, networking and training. He has extensive experience in developing cross-border cooperation platforms among Private and Public Sector, and was involved in the implementation of several EU-funded projects, as well as projects concerning the development of Social Economy in Greece. Furthermore, he has expertise in electronic tendering Processes and systems.
Christos holds an MSc. in Communication Networks and Software from the University of Surrey and a Degree in Cultural Technologies and Communication from the University of Aegean.
Marisa was born in South Africa and raised in Greece. She studied Philosophy and Economics at the University of Bristol, graduating in 2008. After that she moved on to work for PwC as an External Auditor and Consultant, mostly for public shipping companies, while simultaneously receiving her ACCA Diploma.
In 2014 she left the corporate world in order to be part of setting up the first micofinance organization in Greece, Action Finance Initiative. Ever since, as the Business Development Manager of the organization, she has been helping unemployed people and excluded entrepreneurs gain access to microfinance, free business training and support, while developing the organization in Greece.
Spyros is an engineer who holds a MEng in Chemical Engineering and an MSc in Aerospace Materials from Cranfield University. His activities as a Production Engineer include product design, manufacturing, quality assurance and automation.
His involvement in an International Commodity Life-Cycle Assessment project, supported by his strong background in materials and unshaken belief in “living circular”, adds to the Symbiosis vehicle acceleration, aspiring the transition from a linear to a circular economy.
Aside from serving as the Secretary General of Symbiosis, Alexandros is a Lawyer, certified Mediator and member of the Association of Greek Commercialists and the Greek Association of Energy Law. He is currently serving as a Secretary of HELPE Renewable Energy and legal counsel for HELPE operations in Cyprus. He is also a BoD member of the LSE Alumni Association and a founding member and partner of Sporos Platform and Sporos Circular Solutions.
Andrei was born in Romania, studied in Italy and London, and now lives in Greece. He is an entrepreneur, member of the Greek Association of Entrepreneurs, CEO of GA Monitoring, CEO of Sporos Circular Solutions, and a funding Member of the Sporos Platform and Symbiosis. As an EU policy and policy-making expert, Andrei will use his thirst for knowledge to make the circular economy happen.
Dimitris is a Senior Microcredit Development officer, experienced in microfinance and in financial consultancy for SMEs. He will use his skills in business development, fundraising, financial tools, and project management for Sporos Platform and Sporos Circular Solutions, for which he is a founding member and partner. Aside from the passion for circular economy, he is also a best-selling crime novelist.
